Resin pendants I made for Christmas 2012 gifts….this was my first time using resin and lawdy, it is addicting!!
Another jewelry hanger with a paper image transfer. This time I used textured card stock and even with texture it still transferred nicely!
Here is a jewelry hanger I made this past Christmas. The image is of a painting from 1789 I found in an art history book. Using gel medium I transferred the image onto the wood and finished it up with paint, lace, and a felted back.
I am so blessed!!! My mother mailed me her Martha Stewart Knit and Weave Kit and it is AMAZING!!! The options are endless and it is WAY easier to use compared to my ghetto sports bottle spool!!
FINISHED my first knitted scarf. How long did it take me? Oh…LESS THAN ONE DAY! Boo-ya! No joke y’all. These knitting looms are crazy!
Ta-da! I made my own knitting spool out of an empty sports drink bottle. Cut notches along the top and gathered as much patience I could find. After a few tries I ended up with a really rad knitted cuff bracelet!
This time I strung beads on my floss first, then every other stitch I would slide a bead into place….a lot easier than I anticipated and it gives the knit a great weight!!!
Just recently decided to open the tiny box containing a Lion Brand knitting spool….WOAH NELLY….pretty addicting. Fast results. And coming from someone who always cringed at the idea of learning to knit, this is a great way to open that door!
Embroidery piece I finished recently for a good friend!!! For my first real stab at lettering, I am quite pleased!
*The idea for this project was proposed to me by my friend who had seen this same embroidery piece online. I sketched out my own version and stitched it up, using the photo as a reference.
UPDATE: the artist who created the original embroidery design is Stephanie Tillman.
A little sample of my Mothers’ Day 2012 handmade cards.
A little taste of gifts I made for Christmas 2011- tiny framed counted cross-stitch, an AC/DC record clock, and one wicked-kitchy hairclip.
*The counted cross-stitch was a blast from the past for me! I had to pull a few stitches out here and there, oops! but I was delighted with how well they all turned out.
A personal thank you card embellished with handmade paper flowers.
Never painted my record bowls and I’m TICKLED over how fun this is. Cannot. Get. Enough. Must. Keep. Painting.
Recycled Record Bowls- So easy to make!! I tried the 45s today for the first time and I am in LOVE the outcome!! I’ve been making these bowls for over six years and it is a project that NEVER gets old!
Little Orphan Annie-ish skirt modified into an APRON!!
Work in progress- making ruffles from the fabric that was once the back of the skirt. I’m going to keep the front buttons functional and make longer waist ties.
